The City of Excelsior Springs, known for its historic Elms Hotel and Hall of Waters, is seeking a motivated City Planner or Senior City Planner.
This position, reporting to the Community Development Director, will support long-range planning, zoning, subdivision regulations, and historic preservation. Responsibilities include assisting the public and developers, and serving as staff for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustment, and Historic Preservation Commission to establish, interpret and implement general planning and zoning policies, environmental standards, and historic preservation policies.
The ideal candidate must be a team player that will work in a multi-disciplinary department and will interact with both internal and external customers. Strong written and oral skills are essential.
