Event Description:

Join us for an all-inclusive wine tour experience aboard the EXCELSIOR SPRINGS TROLLEY! 











 

Your wine tour includes these four destinations: 

  • WILLOW SPRING MERCANTILE — Your adventure begins in this unique downtown Excelsior Springs mercantile established by Jim and Daphne Bowman in 2005. Willow Spring boasts the state's largest selection of Missouri wines, craft beers, and distilled spirits. Enjoy brunch paired with Missouri-made wines in their exquisite wine cellar bistro. Brunch includes made from scratch sausage and vegetable quiche, spinach salad with fresh berries, and fresh fruit. A chocolate cappuccino brownie is served for dessert.

  • FENCE STILE WINERY —  Second up, Fence Stile, is situated on 55 acres of land and has 8 varieties of grapes making up 10 acres of vineyards.  The estate winery focuses on making dry and semi-dry wines and has a couple of sweet wines to offer as well.  The state-of-the-art winery is located underground adjacent to the wine caves where the wine barrels are stored.  Tours of the winery and wine caves are available which include an extensive tasting of the wines with the winemaker.  Fence Stile is also a distillery crafting small-batch spirits branded as Nyx Spirits. Guests can enjoy wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, mimosas, and sangrias while they enjoy live music, movies on the patio, firepit Fridays, yoga, food and wine pairings, and many more seasonal activities.  Indoor and outdoor space is available.

  • VAN TILL FAMILY FARM WINERY — Your next destination is an enjoyable 15-minute trolley ride to beautiful and scenic Rayville. Here, you will visit the Van Till family known for their warm hospitality, Country garden setting, great wine, and wood-fired oven pizza. Order ahead sheets will be on the trolley ready for you to place your orders. (NOT included in ticket price.)

  • SHAMROCK HILLS VINEYARD & WINERY — Your last stop is Excelsior's newest winery venue. Your taste buds will be delighted with the award-winning Four Horses and a Dog wines and the Irish-themed hospitality experience where you are treated as family. Owners Mike and Denise Riley, along with the entire Shamrock Hills staff, look forward to continuing the legacy that "Four Horses and a Dog Vineyard and Winery" established back in 2008. The Rileys will be planting their first four acres of vines in the spring of 2023 and look forward to producing wines of their own in the future.

    If you have any dietary restrictions, please note those while registering so the restaurant can accommodate.

Each winery stop includes a full tasting experience. Plus, you'll receive a souvenir 6-bottle wine tote to fill up with your favorite wines!

Trolley Wine Tour Rules & Etiquette

  1. No outside alcohol or coolers will be allowed - only alcohol purchased throughout the day may be enjoyed on the trolley.

  2. Be respectful of other trolley tour guests.

  3. Be respectful of the trolley driver. You will be asked to stay aboard the trolley or get taken back to your car early if you get to intoxicated.

  4. Be respectful while winery staff showcase their wines and are talking.

  5. Any damages or messes made on the trolley or at the winery will incur a $150 clean-up fee debited from your credit card that same day.

  6. The Excelsior Springs Trolley staff are not responsible for personal belongings left of the trolley.

PURCHASING A TROLLEY WINE TOUR TICKET MEANS YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THE RULES ABOVE.

Location:

Tours start and end in downtown Excelsior Springs at WILLOW SPRING MERCANTILE, 249 E. Broadway, Excelsior Springs MO 64024.

* Excelsior Springs can be difficult to navigate if you are not familiar with the town's layout, so plan to arrive with enough time to find parking, use the restroom, etc. Many of the downtown shops close at 5 pm Saturday and are not open on Sundays. If you'd like to shop, we recommend shopping Saturday morning. If you are staying at the Elms, the Inn on Crescent Lake, Sunny Side Cottage or Payne Jailhouse B&B and would like the trolley to pick you up there, please let us know in advance and our driver would be happy to do so. 
Date/Time Information:

SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2023

Arrive at 10:15 am for check-in and seating. Brunch will be served promptly at 10:30 am. Tours will conclude at or around 5 pm. Trolley Tours will not wait on late arrivals. If you get lost or cannot make it for some reason, please call Willow Spring Mercantile at 816-630-7467. We will do our best to accommodate your situation.
 
Fees/Admission:

$105 per person
Ticket includes transportation aboard the trolley, wine tote, bottled water, a gourmet brunch, and full tasting experiences at four local venues.

The Chamber reserves the right to cancel if there are less than 15 reservations, in which case, you can be moved to another tour date or your ticket purchase will be refunded. If you have to cancel outside the 7 day cancelation policy a refund of $100 will be given. We will keep $5 for credit card fees. We also have a 7 day cancelation policy, which states that no refunds are given within 7 days of the tour. If you must cancel within the 7 days, you will receive a credit to use at a later date (within 1 year) on any other tour available.

PRIVATE WINE TOURS AVAILABLE: Private Trolley Wine Tours can be made for groups of 10 or more. We can accommodate your large group — separate from the regular tour — so that all guests may have a better wine tour experience.                CALL 816-630-7500 for details.
